Space Pirates are about as old as science fiction itself, and Twilight Imperium's version are one of our favorites! This week, Matt Martens and Hunter Donaldson explore the nuances of the Mentak Coalition's first round and early game. It's a long discussion about a faction that takes advantage of the metagame more than almost any other faction. After that, there's a LOT of errata; first for The Arborec episode from two weeks ago as well as for last week's episode.

As an Australian fan: I'm pretty sad the accent gag only hung around for 5 minutes xD

Greetings from Finland! We just played our first TI4 ever. Five new players (one was ill so had to pass). I had done SOOO much work watching youtube videos, reading the rulebooks and of course listening to your podcast to make it as flowing as possible for everyone involved.Thank you for that. I made some laminated cheat sheets for players to check what strategy cards did, tech symbols and planet traits. I also noticed you used a tracking method for player turns during the action phase. Laminated one of those too and instantly noticed I hadn’t taken into consideration the Naalu. We dove right into the deep end of the pool with all rules as everyone had done their homework, read rules and watched the RTFM learn-to-play video. Factions were: Muaat, Creuss, Mentak, Saar and Naalu. And what an epic game it was!!!! Took us about 9 hours to finish the game and everyone was entertained the entire time. From absolutely terrible position the Mentak Coalition managed to win the game after being six points behind on turn 5! Thank you for the podcast as it is well produced and your voices are quite soothing. :D

@homemmaior : You can if you refresh the planet, which is why we highly suggest taking Diplomacy. If that strategy won't work out for you round 1, taking the green planet loses isn't importance.

You cannot use the green tech specialty the same turn you conquer it.
